Mounting HighMount Winch on Pathfinder

Post by WhosYaDaddy »

Ok have been thinking about mounting a high mount winch. I thought that some of you might have some good ideas. Ok I really thought that you'd have a good laugh, but seriously now.
Does anyone have any good ideas.

Yeah,

Buy a Patrol. :D

No seroiusly, I guess the first step would be to find a winch bar that will bolt up strongly to your monocoq (spelling) chassy.

Im sure its possible coz, Ive seen winches installed on 4wds with monocoq chassy. Like current pajero's and cherokee's.

A good idea would be not to install the high mount, but install a low mount like a Warn XD9000 or 5.5 HP TMAX. You will have a lot better chance of fitting them to some sort of a bar than a high mount.

You really only want a high mount if you are doing competitions and want the faster pulling speed....but I can't imagine you are doing this in the Pathfinder.

If you have a high mount already, they sell for reasonable money and you will not need a real lot more $$$ to get a low mount.

My thoughts anyway.
