What is every one using for their ariels??
I have mine mounted on the bullbar & was intending to use a long 6db whip for road/highway use & swap over to a short whip for offroad work.
I already have the short ariel, but I am interested in everyone's opinion of the different styles/brands 6db ariels. Are there any brands/styles that are better than others??

I have the CD900 antenna (made by RFI), and i cant speak highly enough of it.
It is fairly small and thin, and according to all the write ups on it, it is the best around at the moment. It's a 6.5db over 1/4 wave.
Its only about 3ft but its meant to be unbreakable, the antenna has good flex and also has a heavy duty spring base.
They retail for about $100 and are good if you go into carparks or have a low garage

I have the same CD900 that I bought with my radio from: Prestige communications . Range and performance are excellent and I can vouch for the strength personally since it spends a lot of its time whacking branches on overgrown tracks and has not even got scratched.
Richard.
Richard.
I broke mine.
The metal inside snapped right where the rubber bit goes thin. It just kind of flopped around for a while until the metal started to wear away at the rubber surround and it pretty much fell off.
Not sure what caused it to break, I just noticed it like that one day.
It was a good aerial will it was in one piece though
