niteStalker spotties

Post by Acca Dacca »

Bought a combo set of these from SuperCheap. They looked pretty good for the price, plus apparently they were rated best value in 4WD monthly last year and I'm poor so the best I can afford . So I bought em took em home, all sweet.

Then someone tells that there is a rubber plug/seal thing missing from a hole on the top of the spottie. I thought okay, I'll just take them back. So I went to the closest store to me, they didn't have them and one of the retards there pulled the other one out, ripping it in half :x . Well I was pretty cheesed off but I figured I could just take them to the store I bought them from. My dad decided to ring them up before I just went there, no stores have them in stock and they will no longer stock them. Well by now I was really pissed off. But me dad said that maybe the holes are for expansion and he could just plug it up with black silicone or we could find another rubber seal. But then he asks me if theres a relay in the box and then I say I can't find one. There is no list of things included and no instructions so I'm completely in the dark, my dad probably would be able to figure it out as hes a sparky but we're not even sure all the parts are there now. The company is in Malaysia so I have no idea really how to contact them by phone which would be preferable so I've emailed them. Hopefully they get back to me, but I was hoping in the meantime if anyone knows anything at all that could help me. Like what the holes are for or more importantly if anyone has them whats included and how to wire em up.

They are 100W, 170 series combo.

-Also, yes I can get a refund but they were $20 off and I'm poor so I'd like to keep them if they're okay apart from the little rubber plug things. Also they might be hard to track down as no other place I've been to have them.

I've got the exact same lights. Paid $165 for them at Opposite Lock 3 years ago.

The little rubber plugs on the top are for additional mounts. All the larger spotlights have them. It is a little rod thingy that goes from the little hole and backwards to something solid. They are not supplied with the lights though and I have never fitted any.

What came with my spotlights:
Spotlights
Heaps of wire
Switch

There was no relay supplied so don't worry about that. Just buy one. The cable isn't too great so I ran one feed per light.

My lights are great for the price considering they are just as good as Dad's IPF 900s and they cost more than double.
Only problem I have with them is the mounting nuts are really hard to access on my bullbar and I can't seem to turn them so I don't know if they are seized (plenty of beach work) or if they are just in a PITA spot.

Keep 'em. Just put silicone in the hole. Although it couldn't hurt to ak for a further discount as they are missing parts

I have also got these spotties,
Mine came with the same stuff wires, switch & not much else
I didn't use any of the wiring or the switch. Just bought good quality gear and so far no worries.
They are great for the money, But you MAY find that after supercheap's 20% off sale they have them back in stock within a week or two
(I was told similar around the time of there boxing day sale only to notice that the item i was after is now back in stock!)

Well my dad managed to scab a relay off Super Cheap. I'm just gonna make him wire it up, I've got no idea how hes planning on doing it, he bought all this other stuff at Dick Smith.

Well if theres any issues I'll ask about it and we'll just plug the holes with silicone.

- Utemad, I got em for $120 down from $140.

I bought the same lights in the same sale. Except i was out at Dubbo in NSW for the weekend.
They only had the combo set, but i would prefer two spreaders...... A spot is no good on the twisty's around the mountains etc...
Oh... Great lighs though. Unbelievable output for the small fee..
