1984 253 V8 Hilux Alternator Wiring

Post by Tassie Trent »

Hi All - Ive just bought a 1984 Hilux 4x4 Single Cab Flat-Tray fitted with a 253 V8 Holden motor. This rig was in need of a complete rewire from front to back due to a horrid back yarders attempt at some stage in its life. With now 95% of it done im only left with the alternator to wire up. This hilux was ex-diesel. Can anyone tell me what wires or colour wires are needed to wire it up. I think maybe 2 wires are needed but am not sure (Main Power Wire & Dash Light Wire) & where do they run too ?????. Also can anyone tell me if there is a site on the Internet that has a complete factory colour coded wiring diagram chart for a 1984 to 1987 model if needed for future reference or it anyone has one & can email me a copy of it my email address it is as follows (circleworkcowboy@bigpond.com)Cheers Trent. :?

Hou are you. the yellow wire that goes to voltage regulator needs to go to the alternator instead of regulator

i think on mine, one main power cable comes from alternator to battery and theres also one from alternator to starter. dash lights is another story,

you didnt buy that hilux from someone down in dover did you?
