Feathering front left Tyre?

My new truck 94 GQ is feather the front left tyre quite badly......When I bought it I noticed the feathering on both front tyres but the front left was far worse.

The other day I put on a set of 33 AT that I had stored away from the MQ and they were dead set square and running true. After about 200 kays I have started to notice that the front left is feathering quite badly along the outside edge.

What could be causing it. Is it wheel alignment or something far worse?

Could be excessive camber or toe. Also have seen outer edge on LHF due to people driving into rh corners hard. I would suggest a front end alignment and ask for a print out of the before and after settings.

The outside of my front left tyre wears quickly due to a lot of roundabouts here in Townsville. Your problem sounds more lick castor. Does your truck have a lift and if so, has the castor been corrected for the lift?

will have to organise a wheel alignment during the week...

It does have a 2in lift and I didn't think that you require castor correction for so little lift in a GQ

Not caster but camber IF thats the prob.
Even more too much toe in.
Also likely to be driving style.or tyre type.
Just rotate front to rear every oil change.and check toe with a tape.

Booked in for wheel alignment tomorrow....

The tyres that I just fitted are 33in AT that were about 80% and with no rounding or feathering of any sort.

Hopefully it is only out of alignment. Will let you all know what the wheel alignment guys has to say.

Does anyone have the numbers that the wheel aligment machine should spit out to say all is ok?

got the wheel alignment today and the toe-in was out.......but he found that the left front tyre has 1/2 a degree of positve camber.......

He explained that he could fix it with a camber plate that push the tyre into negative camber but it would cost me $220....

That seemed like a lot of money for a new king pin plate with 1degree of camber adjustment and he would reuse my current bearing not even a new one.....

Where can I buy the camber plate and what should the camber be cause he advised that it should be between quarter and half a degree negative camber......

I have exactly the same problem on the right hand side. My right front wheel has 22' pos camber. I think that supports the theory that positive camber causes this flatter.

I'll try fo fix it a 3/4 deg correction king pin to get it to half a dergree neg camber.
