Oil Change

Post by malza »

Got a 93 4.2L td Mav.

Been doing an oil and filter change today and ive put in the 9-10L (roughly) required but im not getting a reading on the dipstick.

Added a bit more oil, ran it, left it a while and still no reading. Don't want to overfill it. No leaks.

Anyone got any ideas?

Cheers

did the dipstick read right before?

how much oil did you drain out of it?

im just thinking it may have the wrong dipstick in it.

is it on level ground and have you left it long enough to settle into the sump?

thanx guys, I was starting to think I had the wrong dipstick.

Added more oil and finally registered on the dipstick. Was my first oil change so put it down to the noob factor.
