After Market 4.6s Any Good ?

Post by GUEEY »

Hey Guys.

I have the Large rear diff in my Goo, and cannot get genuine 4.6 gears from nissan.
I have heard mixed opinions on After Market Crown Wheel & Pinoins.
I am more that happy to run After Markets in the front, but an conserned about the rear ( Screaming after 10-20k )
Can anyone shed any light on this subject !

Cheers Grant.

i've only heard the rumours however i spoke some people an they have been using G&J gears (apprently very dodgy) and have had no problems after 40k

i guess it depends on the driver

can u fit a smaller diff? the HS233b or not possible

thats what i was concerned about too, as being a daily driver you do many km on the rear.

thats why i went genuine but it sucks that they are unavailable in your situation.

from the advice i have been giving, i wouldnt put a aftermarket in the rear, have you rung around heaps to try and source one?

hope you manage to get a genuine rear from somewhere Grant.

When I was shoppin' round, Locky told me the genuine rears are the go as they do more work than the fronts, and then go with aftermarket fronts. But he was mentioning 20-30,000klms then possible issues. Not bad when you think they only work while offroad, take a while to do 30,000 offroad, but not for the bucks....

maybe changing diffs is your option, phuckin expensive, but sellin old ones to Lux owners maybe an offset in cost?
