Rangie in latest 4WD monthly magazine

I just picked up the latest copy of 4WD monthly magazine....scanned the front cover and what's this.... a picture of my ute is in the bottom right hand corner :shock:

I quickly flicked through the mag and .... wooo hooo I'm a centrefold

page 106 - 107.

It would have been nice if they took the picture when you were driving out of the Mud and not winching out. :oops:

But 4WD Monthly do love their GQ's.
What places did you come and how about your other Rangie mates.

I don't know Shane .... I think it's a great photo and the winch cable is just showing how hard it was getting out of the muck ... even for a weapon of a Rangie .. it could be worse .. the only time my old rangie got into the 4WD Monthly was after I flipped it over backward in Feb 2003 at the first round of the Exreme Winch Challenge series ... now that was embarrasing .. after that is when it went from rooted to uted ..

Nice rangie Jason and nice ute conversion also.

But you should wind that side window right up or right down. I would hate you to break the glass suffer a serious injury. I see you are wearing a helmet but your neck is vulnerable.

it could be worse .. the only time my old rangie got into the 4WD Monthly was after I flipped it over backward in Feb 2003 at the first round of the Exreme Winch Challenge series ... now that was embarrasing ..

But did you get centre fold. :cool:

It must have been a deep mud whole to stop those huge tyres (What size are they?)

Every week my Rangie sits in the yard needing reconditioned auto and other stuff. The more I like it. I think I am getting the range Rover bug. And than I look at this Forum and plan all the cash I am going to spend on it.

Anyway Craig I still see you coming back to the Rover forum, instead of Nissan. You still havn't gotton rid of the Range Rover bug have you.

That was my last stage on Saturday, I didn't know it at the time but I had lost my power steering and the thermo fans had also stopped working, after many attempts to fix that nights I DNF'ed for Sunday's stages. The best place rangie I think was Peter Lee Smith in 7th :?:

I actually entered the hole with both windows down, and ended up spraying mud all through the passenger side (roof, back wall & seat) Luckily my wife (nav) was not in the cab at the time

. When the shot was taken I was trying to get the heater working to de-fog the windscreen, winch and the drivers window is also going up ( power windows :oops:

).

When I drive the windows are either fully open or fully closed, I'm 6'2" and have space issues in the rangie as it is

Simex Et's 35 x 10.5 x 16. And no the whole was not that big (i suppose it is all relative though). I was the last vehicle on that stage for the day, and there was a lot of water on the ground (which was on a clay surface) when driving out of the whole with both lockers on I was just spinning on the hard surface, and red coats said to winch out.

I was also in that article, standing in the background behind Huddy's ute on stage 8!

It was great fun watching the communication between you and your wife while winching!

Are you planning on competing in this year's Vic Winch?

yeah mate ....still got the Rangie Bug ... you just can't shake it can you ... think I need some more therapy ... but seriously, I am a little over the Rangies at the moment .. when you've built, jumped, bashed, crashed and smashed as many as I have over the years .. you get that way.

I'm also becoming realistic in my old age and am just completing a Turbo 95 GQ wagon build up so whilst I still visit the Rangie forum to get my 'fix', I am still going with the Nissan ... I love Rangies but am just looking for something different for a while and the big Nissans, as crappily built as they are, are built like bloody trucks .... and they are an excellent 4bys so I will give one of them a go for a while ... you never know, I might shake the Rangie bug forever

I bloody hope not :shock:

Rangies are like that, you just can't shake them off completely. I suppose you do get bored with things over time,but wehat would I know I'm only onto Rangie number 4, not thirty something like yourself :armsup:
