one is a 84 model with a 4.6 ltr engine thats had a fair bit of work done on it from the blokes that built the bushranger and some suspension work.
its in sydney
the other one is a 84 with 3.5 but it has a warn winch 4t just been resprayed 2 pak white 5 speed gear box maual and it sounds sweet plus its local to me
so do you think its worth going all the way to sydney for the 4.6 or just getting the one that is local

Depends what you want to do. Bush thrasher? Go the 4.6. You can add a winch easily (and old winches are often dodgy) but if you get the 3.5 you'll end up doing the engine and suspension ... and the paint will just get scratched in the bush...
If you want a Tidy tourer - go the 3.5, more economical, sounds tidier.
The 4.6 blocks (some of them) have a problem but not most. You can ask around for how to identify one with problems, chances are it would be OK.
I put in a 4.6 to replace a tired old 3.5 and it's brilliant. Wish I'd done it years ago - the hills that used to take 3rd gear I don't change down for anymore.
