Any of you guys have any experience with the speedo wiring on current model Hilux's? I believe its the 3 wire VSS type.
Reason for the question is that I want to run larger tyres and as ive been nabbed for speeding too many times with regualr wheels, im going to have trouble with bigger tyres, 33s actually. Not much, but still enough to get me into trouble.
Am looking at figuring out whether the speedo signal can be adjusted with some easy to rig electonic thing, mb a resistor? I know Marks 4WD adaptors has a trick box for $175, but if i can save the cash and do it myself, the better.
Any info would be great.
Cheers

Not sure if im correct or not but as I understand it the vss sends pulses to the computer. The computer determines the frequency of these pulses and calculates engine speed off of this. Doubt this helps but just pointing out that its kinda complicated (remember thats if im correct in my thikning of how they work). So unless you wanna crack out a CRO to measure the vss pulse frequency at given speeds I cant see it being an at-home-fix. Of course I might be overcomplicating things which I'm good at.
