it's out near Portland which is close to Lisdale from what I can gather. Don't know about the conditions of the track but I have heard of reports that there are some challenging ones around.

Speaking of exploration trips, I went to Appin on saturday for a bit of a look around.
It was suggested by Paul that I organise a trip there, so I thought Id better check it out first.
Bumped into a couple of OL trucks and they were cool enough to show me around. The tracks as I suspected were on the hard side.
I managed to follow the the two guys mainly because I now have a front locker but I also dragged my ass end a fair bit.

Dont think I can recommend Appin unless your really keen. :?

Highjack off. (sorry Jase) :D

Howdy all,

Long time no speak. I'm keen for a trip too but I first need to get my lift (slight sagging issues), new tires (baldness/blowout issues) and check if I have infact done some dental work to the truck when I went to Fraser in Feb (corrugation issues)     .

As I have just moved and had to furnish a whole unit it may be a while... now in Marrickville so Rod we're practicaly neighbours.

Rod, where did you get your locker my friend and how much? If I have done the dental work new locker to be fitted to rear

Cheers

Thats good Paul! You can help me with me 1/4 chop. :D

I got ARB at Petersham to fit the lockers. I had slotted rotors and new KOYO bearings and seals put in as well.
The locker, air comp and installation will get you a handfull of coins back at $2k. Obviously the rotors and bearings (which I supplied myself) will add to the final $ damage. I needed these extras bits cause my old bits were beyond there glory days.

Alright guys well i've pulled my finger out and decided to organise this exploration trip.

I have a few topo maps of the area but I havent got out to any of them yet. So please understand that it's not a trip where I can take you straight to the best tracks. If all else fails we can fall back onto Lisdale or Newnes.

The date is set for Saturday the 30th April. I've ammended my first post to reflect who is coming so far.

Re Sunny Corner

If you can get hold of a copy of '4WD treks Close to Sydney' (currently out of production but I believe a new edition is due out within the month) go to page 65, trek#8.

This is a medium/hard trek with one section labelled 'Very steep' and it is :-)))

Rest of trek is good with plenty of camping areas if needed.

i think i have taht here somewhere
ill have a look at it
but i think this trip is cancelled.
cause if jase isnt going , then john wont be going.
so its only me and rod.

and i think thats a bit of a risk, only going with 2 people ,, especially since i seem to have a bit of a habbit ending up sideways on hills.

its your call jase when you want to reschedule it for.
no rush for a new date , take the time you need.

All the best Jase,

If it's later enough I'll be in it... could maybe even camp for those who are keen?
