nic - i was thinking of making something like this out of nylon netting... then use hooks and elastic loops to attach it around so itll be nice and tight. dont see why you cant do it inside yours?

Mainly concened when camping on a trip.

Thinking of using the seatbelt points up the top and making some new ones down below and using someones old security door for the mesh on a sortof steel frame.

cheers

I have been thinking about this a lot lately. The reason for this is because I’m hoping to get a soft top and wouldn’t mind some security so my bling doesn’t get stolen.

I’m sure you can buy some steel mesh then just make a frame. Really poor welding skills required.

Then it’s just a matter of nutting a mounting design that’s suitable. If I did it it would mount off the a sports bar.

dont even bother with security in a soft top hey... i ALWAYS leave all my doos unlocked and when possible (ie: not raining) windows down and back unzipped... if someone wants in they can go for it.

That said the only times (4 now) my zuk has been rummaged through are when before i leave the car i think "oOoo might rain, better shut it all up"... so it looks locked up etc. Then some poor sod thinks its open slather on theiving... but theres nothing in there to steal cept for my bike pump, a compressor with a busted guage, and a hell of a lot of dirt and dust - anyone going through areas of the car will come out covered in crap =) kind of a good revenge i reckon!

So basically the moral of the story - the more secure it looks, the more someone will want in to see why you want it so secure!

Nic, how about just building a rail/bar across the back of the seats at about lower back height (500mm or so off the rear floor), then steel mesh down to the floor from there, and use the cargo style netting from the bar up? as when camping all heavy stuff sits low, and the net should stop anything else sliding around... could also be used like a ute cover OVER the gear to the rear door to hold it all down?

Alien:

Mine would have to be higher anyway, as i have boxes built into the back section to hold shite. tools and that.

I have seen a couple done in swb patrols that look good.
