Drop Boxes or Dropped Radius Arms

Post by morkz »

Hey whats everyones opinion i tried searching but as you know its kinda Grimace.

and found some info but want to know about the two is it worth the extra

can have drop boxes for $350
or pay the extra and have arms for (3rds brand) $1000

what would you do?

i heard drop boxes have clearance issues and the dropped arms have bushes problems and they are more expensive but what would you choose ?

note am mainly looking at the 3rds product and not the snake.. just not interested in the snake

1) plates come loose and dont do the job properly kinda of a makeshift correction

2) i require 5-6 degrees bushes dont do that

what sort of lift I we talking here.

I think the snake or 3rd's arms would be the best way togo if you could afford it. But have heard the drop boxs do work and much cheaper.

Have seen weld on plates. These seem to do the job to, but the chassi bush still has stress on it.

WARNING !! Rover radius rods are forged steel so there are no probs doing this.
Patrol owners should not even think about doing this because their radius arms will shatter.

i voted dropped box as i have them and seem good and truck drives majic.

the only problem being they sometimes get in the road and i have been hung up on them a couple of times..... but next time more speed and revs will fix that :D

I have dropped boxes, and have had no issues with them hanging me up, but then maybe ask China or someone how I drive, and there is prolly little chance of the drop boxes stopping me :D

i'm more leaning towards drop boxes at the moment.

purely for cost and i know they work.

not to worried about hitting things with it because the person whos making them for me uses them in OBC so i'm sure they'll be alright

A mate has the Snake arms and there is klunking and evidence of the arms hitting the chassis

I voted drop boxes, reason being there cheaper. The 3rd items look good but still don't take the twist out of the front diff... so the money you save can be spent on other goodies

Hey Morkz who is building your drop boxes? Is it Cass?

I would be spending that extra cash and go 3rDs. My drop boxes are being taken out and replaced with 3rDs for the simple reason of being hung up and the drop boxes have not corrected my castor to a better perfection. As soon as I change them over and test them I will let you know my opinions of the two.
