Snowy Mountains Challenge, Cooma

Brindabella 4WD Club hosting this inaugural 4WD Challenge at the foot of the Snowy Mountains on Queens Birthday weekend, 10-13 June.

This is a Group C event and that means it is for experienced drivers and co-drivers that have a "go anywhere" 4WD" to Class C specifications. CCDA rules will apply and the maximum tyre diameter is 38".

It is tough.
It will require precision driving.
It will test your winches.
It will tire your winch man.
It will require total concentration by the driver.
The crew will have to be confident about driving extreme trails.
Can you survive up to 10 Special Stages over two days.

4WD access only but trailers can be left at the gate.
You need to BYO everything.
Bring campervans, tents or swags for Fri, Sat, and Sun nights.
Great campfires.
Take home your rubbish.

Competitors must become temporary members of the Brindabella 4WDC for the sum of $20.00 each.

NO entry fee but the will be a competitors sweepstake of $100.00 per car.

Access is very difficult and only high clearance 4WD's can get into the property so maybe a few spectators can observe some stages but they must become temporary members of the Brindabella 4WDC for the sum of $20.00 each.


First stage 7.30am Saturday
Presentations Monday morning.

The Snowy Mountains Challenge, Cooma, NSW is coming together. There has been plenty of work pu in getting the property ready for this innagural event. The intrest in the comp has also been high. If you are keen to compete in winch challenges, this is one to test the driver, winch, and to exhaust your navy!

No. it is held on a property owned by Chris Nash. The property also has a lot of rock! It is more surrounded bu loose soils and more rock than nice green grass like Cal's place.

about 50k closer to canberra dude, before the black granite starts. good property for the high speed stuff. lots of mud/dirt and loose shaley climbs..

The SNOWY MOUNTAINS CHALLENGE, Cooma has been posponed until the new dates in August of Friday 19 to Sunday 21 August. We appologise for the inconvenience of the change of date but look forward to haveing a great weekends competition on the new weekend.
