Looks like i may be the only one who doesnt like the Xterrain.
I have never seen a tyre with a weaker sidewall. I know so many guys running these that have sliced or torn the sidewall out of them. And they dont drive that hard. And i used to think BFGs were bad for this.
I dont know of anyone holing the side of an MTR yet.
My boss has run MTRs on road everyday and offroad at least once a month with our custom electronic traction control fitted for atleast 40thousand Ks and they still look great its looking like 100thou without a prob on this set will be likely.

sorry ruff but as you know I import and sell the pro comp range, to date i have over 2000 tyres on the road and the only tyres i know of with sidewall holes are a total of 4. this is not a bad averidge, i see thousands of 4wd tyres every year and to say any tyre is weak is not a fair or accurite statement. the fact of the matter is if you want tough off road tyre buy bias ply if you want handiling and control buy a radial. and just a reminder i see every brand of 4wd tyre with holes in the side, we have a factory with an area dedicated to major repairs on tyres, we see tyres from over 75 tyre dealers every day. the pro comp tyre is sold to the serious offroader, not Mr on road take the kids to frazer once a year type.

is the toyo mtr copy coming only in 38"? what is wrong with 38's on the road? they look like a nice road pattern. should perform ok. what rim size, and what sort of $$$$?

most of the tyres with damage are generally BFG, but this is probably due to bfg market share and is not indicitive of the brand, we see major repiars on all brands of radial and the numbers are inline with how many of these tyre are on the road. Does that make sense? at the end of the day rubber and nylon just don't beat sharp rock and wood. but just a hint for all you 4wders, most tyre damage is done in wet conditions.
