Disco 1 heater core!

Can't believe it.

Soaking wet passenger floor, pulled up the carpet and noticed water slowly flowing down over the trans tunnel to the passenger floor. Coming from the bloody heater.

Pulled the hoses off and it looks like the feed tubes in the engine bay through the firewall are plastic. If they're plastic then (it would seem logical to assume) the heater core might be as well.

How the hell would plastic fail?????

Anyone else experienced this little pearler?

Plastic tanks aluminium core
Buy a copper one or use a modified Commodore one I did

BTW, Anyone having problems getting to Rovertrax web pages lately?
I get an Apache web design page with files listed and no access to them.

Was it water or coolant?? You say water. If so, it is probably condensations from the air con. Make sure the drain hose is clear and feeding through the bulkhead,

Nah, definitely coolant. Have disconnected heater until I get the chance to have a look at what I have to pull out.

Unless someone can save me pulling out crap I don't need to!

Well, I pulled the console out. It does look like the dash has gotta cokme out as well? :roll:

Has anyone done this job and can offer some pointers?

It requires removal of almost the entire front interior. Not a job for the faint of heart.
