coily front wheel bearings

Post by muppet_man67 »

I just bought a new front wheel bearing as the front right is a bit loose and goes clickty clickty clicity. also leaking oil. The appropriate bearing apparantly, (Im yet to try and fit) are sj410.

If the bearings are the same as 1l zooks then does that mean the axels cvs and diff ratios are also interchangeable?

Any tips for changing the front bearings?

If the axles were interchangable, it would only be the outer, as the inner axle is 15mm per side longer than a WT, but 1.0 litre strong (weak). I suspect they might not be interchangeable though, as I reckon that the hub is shorter on the coiler.

With regard to ring and pinion, no luck. The R&P on the front of a coiler is a 3.9 ratio (same as NT) but is sadly reverse rotation (also called "high pinion") and might be interchangable with Jimny but these are only avialable in 4.09 ( which might work with a 1.0 llitre R&P, but sadly the rear of the coiler is 1.3 size, so there is no rear ratio to match.

Don't lets get started on coiler wierdness and non interchangability.
