in a 24V system, you have a common link between the 2 batteries.. look for the battery that has got its -ve connected to the other batteries +ve, this is like the main battery.. with this battery (batt 1 - main), get power fromt he +ve & ground to chassis (batt 2 is the battery grounded to chassis)..
it may seem confusing, but I can probably draw up something later

turbo deisel LWB, 2inch body, endless air, arb front and rear lockers, 34 JT2s, warn winch, carputer/GPS, working handbreak,
i have a 24v relay that iam going to use and each light 24v bulbs so i should be able to go off the diagram thanks robbie but is this classed as using one battery if you come off the same side as the wire to the start if this is the case how do get around not using just the one battery
god i wish i had a 12v system

Sorry once again to all the above posts, yes you can then use the diagram illistrated then, you are not actully coming off one battery, if you were then you would tap the negative from the negative of one battery and the positive from the same battery, basicly in robs diagram you are comming of both the bateries in series, this is ok. I will remove my previous post as it is probably misleading to the thread

if you follow that diagram youll be right, and 24 V is better than 12 V dude, less current draw. just you gotta be a bit cluey, but all the help you need is right here.
