Desert tracks is more elaborate version. Only includes a few more things. DiscoverAus has most track points that people need.
The update should include all the stuff that is meant to be on the CD that isnt, like the points of interest etc.

If you look you could probably obtain a copy on line and see for your self. Read the recent thread on buying GPS's.

I'll try to find out the full story when i speak to the Magellan Rep again.

I have spoken to the distributor for DiscoverAUS and he basically said, yes new version due in next couple of months and it will include Topo info as well. New Desert Tracks will be a few months behind that.

Initially, both will only be available on SD card, to be released to CD later.

He also said, (and I'll believe this when I see it) if you purchase the current versions of the software from a trade show in the next couple of months (ie 4x4 Show, Boat Show , etc) it will come with a voucher to upgrade to the new versions. There will be a charge but it'll only be the difference in RRP between old and new version. He mentioned DiscoverAUS would prob be about $330 for the new version.
