Flat springs as aresult of long shackles

Flat springs as aresult of long shackles
just fitted longer shackles
have noticed that the front springs are now completly flat from the axle to the shackle
the shackle sits straight up
Is this ok i havent wheeled it yet

flat springs are good!..
a verticle shackle isnt so good.. wheel it and see how u go.. chances are they will outflex your brakelines if u havnt got longer ones, your driveshaft if u havnt got it extended or got a spacer fitted..
cant really tell much till u wheel it..
dont worry about anythin tho, its normal.. to have the things u describe when longer shackles are put in the front of a lux..

Make sure that the torque bar isn't holding them back either. Myself and numerous others from this board have had torn brackets and chassis from too much and ext shackles etc.

yeh havent wheeled it as my shocks and brake lines a now all most maxed out the backs are a full extention on flat ground and the the front have about an inch

i installed an adjustable diff locator when i did the shackles so thats all good

i installed an adjustable diff locator when i did the shackles so thats all good
So did i, and i still broke the f*ckin tourque rod mount off the chassis.
Fixxed that and then broke off the spring hanger.

Torque rod is mainly affected by lift so the locator wont really make any diff to this problem at all.
But my question to you was, is the d/s sitting lower?

My d/s spring sags lower that the p/s because when i still had the standard steering set-up with lift, the torque rod would fight the spring and make the diff twist forward or backward with suspension travel, making the spring fail prematurely. This was about 3 months after having it reset. Ever since ive had x-over the spring has not sagged one mm.
Plus there is a little optical illusion going on with the flat look of the d/s compared to the p/s because the diff centre makes the d/s spring perch higher. Thats why every time you buy a set of hilux front springs one has a "Drivers Side" sticker on it.

Not bad till ya wanna stop, then it's a case of hang on and enjoy the ride.
Will also stuff your springs prematurely, mine look like a W shape ATM, as I ran without one for about 3 months after I ripped the mount out of my chassis, and then broke front spring hanger as mentioned by Gribble.
