Newbe with engine problem

Post by ed oorklep »

Hey Guys,

My second post (first was in members section ;) )
I have a problem with my Vit. It's 8v EFI and it runs bad.
It started about three weeks ago (I think), the vit wouldn't start :x
so I started looking why and there was a relais under the dash that was rattling, also a few valves in the engine bay rattled (EGR and Throttle Opener).
Then I tried to start again, it started :bad-words: but it ran really bad, If you rev it it was as if there wasn't coming gas every 3 seconds or so, but very regularly.
I replaced the oxygen sensor and the fuel filter, will check on the fuel pump soon (if it has enough pressure).
If this won't work I'll try to replace the ECM.
Any other idea's over here :?:
Thanks for your help ;)

Start it up and spray a steady stream of starting fluid down it. If it runs consistently, then it probably is your fuel pump or pressure regulator (if it has one).

Make sure the plug wires are all connected nice and tight without breaks.
My tires were rubbing in the front, so I trimmed the hood, and now they're fine...

I'll try that, connections are clean and good fuel pressure will be what I'll measure asap
