hey all k i wana see my suspension up the best it will go. i want it to have heaps of wheel travel but still be drivable on road and with sum wait. i dont want to have to modify and of the mounts or anything. i would like to know wat springs are best and shockies? should i put extended shackles on? is there anyfaultsa with them and so on. plz help as i want to get my rig up and runnin as quick as possible.
I've got Cross Country suspension on my 45, 2 inch lift and the cheapest of the lot, almost a grand cheaper than pAyRB, 2 grand cheaper than opposite lock. that was for everything, shocks, springs, bushes, greasable pins and shackles and a steering damper. They were only installed on Tuesday, so they've still gotta bed in and I've gotta put the PTO winch on, which will help settle it down. Heres a couple of pics.

Try to get dobinson's springs with 25mm-40mm longer top 2 leafs.
That will give you some lift and more down travel. The only down side is that the front spring are more likely to flick the shackle back and bending the spring. I use rear shockies on the front and move the bumpstop down.
Out the back you could a leaf out if you not carrying much weight.

These were the quotes I got for my suspension, all included fitting and welding up and redrilling the spring centre pin guide holes:
Cross Country/Bluemax suspension: $1770
Carrols springs: $1900
TJM: $1900
ARB: $2600
Opposite Lock: about $3500
All were 2" lift, hope it helps.

Yeah, Dobinsons springs aren't bad, although I didn't bother going with them when I had the suspension redone on my 45. The suspension that I had installed almost a week ago is starting to ride rather well, and I don't even have the winch on yet. Gotta rip it outta the spare vehicle, complete with gearbox.
