Post by Simo63 »

I'e got a question regarding the interchangeability of the GQ and GU front panhard rods. Does anyone know if they interchange??

Cant see why not but I havnt tried it. Bushes same on 1st 2 series. Length appears the same from one I checked in the carpark.

Thanks Bazzle. That seems to confirm my measurements as well although I have only measured the external dimensions and not the internal ones. Also they appear to be the same in physical appearance. Has anyone else anything to add?

Fernando at 3rd's Productions in sydney sells the same part number for both GQ and GU. The mounts for the steering damper are held on with U-bolts.

Thanks Steve. I pulled the GU one off my car last night (have to replace a bent front diff anyway) and measured it up against a GQ one and it looks identical. I was originally concerned because the front diff seemed to sit across to the drivers side after the accident even though I had replaced the radius arms and the Panhard arm with the GU one as I thought the problem was related to the GU panhard but not so.

I was hoping that I could correct the problem by putting an adjustable one in that is being sold by an OL member.

Cheers
