Glow plugs not working

Post by toughnut »

Hey guys. I turn the ignition on in my 4.2 turbo GU Patrol and the warning light for the glow plugs flashes on for a second and turns off. The glow plugs are obviously not working cause it takes ages to start. I have no idea where to start as far as these go. Any help on where to start looking would be great.

I have the same problem.

Glow plug heater timer ok. No elec to glow plugs. I have checked all and I am stumped.

Only option is to buy new parts and install untill it works.

Any help?

check the connection of the wire to first glow plug. Can get shit under it.

that in mind i issues with timing of the charge. I just wait until the relay turns off.

Does it start any easier if you let it glow for a bit after the dash light has gone out. I know with my hilux once the light goes out, you can hear the relay click off a few seconds after and it starts easier then.
