started workin on the sye last night and thought i'd put up some pics incase anyone else wants to do it.
i've gotta get an engineering place to drill and tap the output shafts, and then we will weld some 10mm plate to the slipyoke then true it up in the lathe

i guess it would work, it'd be a bootiefab version of the kicker3, which uses a splined coupler to join the cases that are mounted solidly together. you'd want it to be aligned perfectly so ya dont get any vibes
i actually was going to do a dual case setup, usin the vit to sierra cases. but can get gearing cheap now, so went that way. hence the need for the sye

One of the clear advantages I can see for the dual cases in a vit is the ability to turn larger rubber with a smaller motor at hiway speeds.
If your running 33's or bigger your going to need to run 5.83's or something in the diffs to help compensate for the increased rolling diameter.
I could not imagine such a low set of gears with tiny teeth holding up all that well (I may well be wrong I have no experiance with these gears at all) But with the sierra case in behind the Vit one you could run much more sensible 4.XX's and 33's or 35's ..

yeah a1, thats the design i'm copying for mine. my friend who is gonna do the welding for me has gone away for the long weekend, so no progress

not a heap of progress, but we managed to drill one of the shafts. ended up cutting the end off it, and trying to drill it, but had to drind off almost as much again as you can see in this pic to get through the case hardening. once through, it was easy to drill.
tomorrow the slipyokes are going to the engineers to get flanges cut and drilled so we can weld them on. also have to make up a spacer now that we've cut the shafts down, to keep the flange off the tcase seal

slowly getting there, finally got the flanges back from the engineering shop, should be welding em sometime this week, then tap the shafts and the tcase will be sorted 
, oh and install the gears.....one thing down on the never ending list for the sas

yes it is an ironing board 
so far the slipyoke fund is up to $0.......i had a spare tcase to get the shafts out of, and the slipyokes to cut down. i'm waiting for the bill from the engineering mob, but i think it'll be the only money i'll have to outlay. we've got welders, lathes, taps etc to finish it
