Toyota carby on a zook

Post by Robert Polsen »

i have a vacume leak where the butterfly valve shaft gose thru the carburetor. this is my second carby with the same problen. what can i replace it with that will last abit better. an old guy at the tip told me he was runing a toyota liteace carby but i havent seen him agen since. im runing a 1.6 with my original 1.3 inlet manifold. (how easy and cheply can the stok carby be rebilt) im not shor if rebilding will fix this sort of leak.
my suzi is an 86 and a lot of the newer carbys ive found have the wrong emissioncontrole sencers.

I got a price on a motorcraft 4300 carbie rebuild kit for a 302 that was around 57 dollars. Knowing a Suzuki, it'll probably cost ya 30 bucks.

Get car to normal opperating temp. adjust timing to spec if needed.wind mixture to a bit rich. set idle speed to spec. wind in mixture till engine just starts to run rough, then wind mixture screw out just slightly till motor comes good. Re adjust idle speed if it has changed. The mixture when the motor is reving is adjusted by jet size.

thanks lay80on ill do that as soon as i get a timing lite that dossent constantly shock me. and the carby cost $50 from a jap wreckres (becos i got the newist and shinyist one there) its off a KE70 Corrola but a veriety will also fit i needed 4 bolts becose the toy carb dossent have mounting bolts runing from top to botom it bolts at the base. the vacume stuff is up to u but i left it alone ul need to fiddle if u want to add aircon advanse or hedlite advance but u could probbly just by one that has that stuff, the choke is manual and opperated by a wire this is another reson i got it becos my siera choke dident work and ive herd there a problem. and u allso need a smaller ruber seal for the top (where the airclener cover bolts on) im still trying to get pics but the camra wont talk to the computer

This is the lasst update on my only thred. Iv finaly got round to fiting the choke cable. i got the cable from a toyota lite ace from pick apart ($10)but found it was about 1m too long so i cut it (but its probbly easear to get a shorter one from a corrola. the carbys disined for a cable choke and theres even a conveneant hole in the firewall. the dashbord had a resese with a D shaped hole that mached the Knoby end of the cable perfictly (untill i drilled it out for two spotlite switches). this has made a hell of a diferance starting and idling on those early winter mornings. this is an old thred but i wanted to finnish befor i sell my suzi.
