Can any of you Zook gods answer a query as to how hard would it be to graft a live axle onto a SWB Vitara and if so what axle is the norm.
I was thinking hilux axles front and rear modified to suit coils but I drive a Nissan and am only allowed to drive my girlfriends Suzuki on occasion
and according to her wouldn't know a Vitara if it ran over me
Any info would be helpful

Ive been on a trip with celia and Eugene and a few of the others from nsw zook club(thaoldman ,peter haasmann,and others)
This was wen she still ran the sierra front axle housin and vitara rear and it had bulk flex and im sure they even ran limiting straps on the front let alone the rear ,her truck is in a 4wd monthly edition and im sure it shows a decent amount in the write up .
And yes its a five link setup
She now runs lux front and rear housings
And fuk she can drive 8)
On the trip we were on she ended up breakin a the front panhard bar i think at the point where its adjustable

The sierra diff might be the easiest option but unless you were staying with 31's or smaller I wouldn't even consider it.
If you were going to do all of that work just use hilux diffs and be done with it. If you ever break CV's just buy some longfields and you would have a pretty hard time breaking anything with that weight and potential tyre size (say 1300kg and 33's-35's).
Also, the Vit rear diff is several inches wider than a sierra diff meaning that spacers or greater offset rims would be needed on the sierra diff.
Do a search on pirate, there have been a few SAS'd Vits on there. One recently had a tube front done.
