A/C power relay?

Post by mrbonk »

Greetings,
After some monster heavy rain, the power relay that (so far as I can tell) is controlling the A/C fan on the front of the condenser (and possibly the compressor clutch too?) was buzzing like crazy. The fan and compressor were both running, even though the A/C switch inside the car was off. After it was parked all day, the relay seemed to be working again, but I'd like to change it anyway (better safe than sorry). Only problem is, it's got some sort of modular plug on the bottom of it, as opposed to just exposed blade terminals like all the relays I can see in Supercheap/Autobarn et al.

Does this mean I'm going to have to try and chase down a genuine part for this aftermarket (CoolAir I think it is) A/C?

I went to an auto-electrician today, who informed me it's a standard 4-pin relay and promptly sold me a new one.....all fixed :)
