The table in the document is wrong (plus its not the ADR). ADR 24 was amended in 1989 & repealed as of the 1/1/05. So this vehicle would have to comply to the Third edition of ADR24 which still doent have that table in it nor does it mention modifications to wheels & tyres.

I was just trying to clarify that the ADR's don't deal with modifications. Most state authorities use them as a benchmark for their own regulations regarding modifications. This is why they are all different.
ADR's are really designed for vehicles before the complaince plate is fitted & then sold, or the birth of the vehicle if you like. After that then the states become involved.
The table in the RTA document in your link. The header says this is from ADR24 but it isnt.
This is the problem with modifying vehicle is there are so many standards which have to be used in conjunction with each other & are open to interpretation. Sometime you have to sit in a corner with no noise & just read and understand them as brushing over them doesnt work because you will miss something.

I saw the 80 series at the battle of the codes at Rover Park and I see it when I drive through Moorooka all the time. But I am sure it is still rego'd in NSW.

thats correct.. i saw the NSW rego plate as well... even have a pic of it here...
what people miss is that you can't widen the track more than 25mm and have it passed by an engineer. siggi is not passsed by an engineer, it is checked to comply by an engineer and passed by the dot. there is no adr code that says track cannot be 25mm wider. however there is a rule that says a track greater than 25mm over standard cannot be approved by the approval engineers program. the engineer provided a submission to the dot.

If he got Toyota to see that their car could legally abide by the ADR's by doing certain modifications, then Toyota themself could release a factory modified version of the 80 series - hence complying fully with the ADR's and allowing anyone to run 44" tyres on the road with a factory 10" lift..
Why would Toyota want to do that? 99% of them goto school, and home, nowhere near dirt. How many families would want to run 44's?
This truck had a lot of Artic Truck background and info on it.
Shedguy tried the same format with his troopy since the artic trucks come out with 44's, but had 0 luck gettin 16x10's engineered on his.
