looking for anyone with a dual bat set up in a zook.

Post by SiKiD_01 »

i would like to know how it is set up, and exactly what components are used and how it is all wired.

i had a good look in auto electrical, and every one there has one of those $300 arb ones or the pirahna ones, or a DIY jaycar one.

pics would be great too.

thanks
Steve

ps. i dont have much money to set one up as the aux batt would be over $100 already.

what if i just get a constant flow solenoid to control the flow between both batts?

my sparky mate said the jarcar ones burn out if the battery goes flat, and take a bit to wire up.
he said just get a continuous rated solenoid and do it that way... pm him if you want
hes crankycruiser off these boards..

If your running EFI make sure you use protection on the solenoid as when they switch is can create a voltage spike and blow up the ECU!! You will need a diode and prolly a capacitor but you can but these solenoids from TJM/ARB with the right protection gear with them.

I run one of the piranha dual battery units. Works real well for me and was easy as to install.

Im running a piranha dual battery in my 410, only problem I had was that the battery was hitting the bonnet.

Im running a yellow top optima lying on its side now. No more clearance problems
