Hard Wire Compressor

Post by gu4800 »

Anyone hard wired (permanently mounted) an air compressor to a GU Wagon (4.8 ltr)?

If so, where in the engine bay is the best/easiest place to mount - not a lot of room left under there!! Want to mount it under the bonnet, and have an external switch and outlet (operated from "accessory" only for safety).

Thanks

Under the drivers or passengers seat is best bet, away from water, dust and general shit.... as you say, not much room in engine bay left.

Bogged:-

thanks - only got it today (at the 4x4 show in Brissie).

Ended up getting the Bushranger Max-Air after reading the latest 4x4 Monthly. RRP was $390, however Duncans had a stand at the show and were selling them for $275 (well they were yesterday, but back up to $349 today). I paid $275, which I think is pretty good.

Enough of the chat - question. Interior mounting - how hot do these things get when in use if I mount it under the seat (or anywhere else inside the cabin)?
