Anyone put GQ seats into an MQ?

Post by adam.s »

Background to the problem:

I got a GQ seat from the big green meany, who by the way looks rediculously big on 38" tyres :)

.....but no rails, and they don't line up with my MQ rails, so I modded the MQ rail to fit the GQ seats.....

Upon a trial fit and the rails are ~1.5-2" not wide enough to bolt into the car.

Main question:

What I am now wondering is if the GQ seat rails are slightly different to MQ seat rails --> but both bolt into the same holes in the floor ?

Nissan kept the seating bolt pattern the same for many of their other cars (300zx/skyline/s13 silvia/s14/s15/pulsars too i think) and considering MQ and GQ chassis/body's are so similar I am just curious if they did it for this one as well.

If that's the case then I will just find some GQ seats already with rails and I'm set.

Thanks guys.

GQ and MQ rails are very similar but not exactly the same......

Just keep your MQ rails bolted on the body and mount the GQ seats on the MQ rails with a coupla light mods....

GQ rails are SLIGHTLY out, not much but ive tried to mount GQ seats in mine before and the GQ rails dont line up with the MQ factory seat mounts in the body.
