GOODYEAR ANNOUNCES NEW GO-ANYWHERE WRANGLERS

Goodyear has launched two crucial new additions to its acclaimed Wrangler four-wheel-drive tyre range.

Goodyear’s commitment to technology has resulted in the production of then Wrangler AT/R and Wrangler MT/R. Developed utilising Goodyear’s groundbreaking ‘Trinuum’ tyre technology program, they are part of the new product line up.

"Trinuum Tyre Technology is a concept that combines the most advanced tyre expertise, technology and creativity from three key international centres of development: Japan for aesthetics and sensitivity, America for bold innovation, and Europe for performance and engineering," Goodyear Brand Manager Sonia Lancaster explained.

"It’s a holistic approach to product development that ensures we meet our customer requirements at every level, from performance and functionality, to appearance and affordability."

Goodyear’s new Wrangler AT/R has been designed specifically to meet the needs of recreational four-wheel drivers, who need as much performance on-road for their daily duties as off-road for the occasional weekend away.

Ideal for the suburban 4WD, the new Goodyear Wrangler AT/R features an interlocked tread pattern with a noticeable centre tread groove for car like on road grip, precise steering and excellent water channelling. Its optimum tread design pitching also ensures the Wrangler AT/R provides superb handling at minimised noise levels.

Being a 50/50 on/off road appliaction the Wrangler AT/R with its’ robust construction is also aggressive enough to get into some serious off-roading on weekends, making it a great all-rounder for the family four-wheel-drive.

Goodyear’s Wrangler MT/R, on the other hand, is a dedicated four-wheel-drive tyre for regular off-road use and serious mud applications.

It features a combination of three-ply sidewall construction and Durawall technology to ensure increased durability and resistance to punctures, cuts and tears, while the tread pattern’s zig-zag grooves promote self cleaning and mud evacuation, and the lateral blocks provide forward traction and precise handling.

"We wanted to be able to offer our customers a complete range of four-wheel-drive tyres to suit their individual requirements, and with these two new tyres we are now able to do that," Sonia Lancaster said.

Goodyear’s Wrangler AT/R and Wrangler MT/R are available in a variety sizes to suit a large range of four-wheel-drive vehicles.

MTRs are not a mud tyre. They are excellent on rock and dirt and loose stuff but in Tasmania we do not class them as a mudder. I guess it all comes back to the void ratio.......the more gap between lugs the better the bite, eh?

No not a mudder but better than most all terranis in the mud. You just have to press your foot harder to the floor. I probably won't own a set again though. The M & T in MT/R stands for maximum traction.
