Driving distance in low range

Post by Mick G »

Very much a novice question i'm sure, but if you don't ask you don't know!!

Do you risk damaging bits if you drive in low range for extended periods of time. For example on a recent trip to Landcruiser Park, I was switching between low and high for various sections but was bascially "off road" all day. Am I likely to do more damage switching back and forth or am I good to leave it in low as long as i'm wheeling. I have no intention of booting it along tracks in low range before you ask, but am eager to know if there is a risk of damage either sticking in,low or swapping.

For info in case it is relevant, I drive a "99 S2 Manual TD5 Disco with a Bruce Davis remapped ECU.

Appreciate the input again.

Neither will hurt it.

Just dont drive on hard surfaces with CDL engaged if it has one.
