IFS Bushes

Post by MudLux101 »

Ive got the springs and made the shakles for my rear setup.

I just need to know from someone who has done this, what bushes do i need?? at the moment the springs have the stock front bush with sleave and no rear bush.

So if someone knows the part no. of the ones i need and the bolts to go with them that would be great. (Preferably from somewhere cheap ;) ) ive read 18mm bolts are the go, but im not 100%

Thanx

If the front bush is rubber i believe the sleeve cant be taken out without some difficulties, if its poly then youll need to tap it out so you can fit your anchor pin in.

The back bushes you could get from supercheap or a suspension place, i got poly bushes but rubber flex better but also cost more and probably dont last as long as poly either. Should be able to get these as a pack of 8 (mine were separate from the front bushes when i got them).

18mm bolts are definitely the go

the rear bushes will be the same as your current ones.. just tap them out of your old springs and into the ifs springs.. the front ones are the bushes for the front eye of a ifs model hilux.. get them from any suspension shop, the polly ones come with the metal sleve that reduces the hole in the bush from 18 to 14 mm, leave it out and u have yourself some bushes, that easy..

Ok, just priced the bolts, $16 each and $27.50 for an 18mm drill bit. is this normal?

With nuts this comes close to $100. i only paid $70 for the springs and made the shakles myself. just thought this was a little steep, but i may be wrong.
