I was looking at a range rover yesturday and the owner told me that it had a Land Rover Discovery high compression 3.9 in it that was only released overseas. He said that the compression ratio was over 9 to 1. I am curious as to whether such a engine actually exists and what power and torque outputs it has.
Any information on this topic or suggestions on where to look would be greatly appreciated.

3.9 high compression??
Moderator: Micka
Local Rovers with 3.9 had 8.13:1 Compression, Units released overseas had 9.35:1. If you look on the left hand side of the engine where the engine number is stamped just above it should have the compression ratio stamped in as well I think.
