Hilux Diff ratios

Hey just wondering if anyone could tell me ,what was the most common diff ratios in an 83 modle Hilux dual cab ...not sure what motor is in it,but petrol or diesel whats normally in these units .Im after 4.3's which model's have these ?

i think you'll find that it'll have 4.88's

if its petrol its a 4.88, if its a diesel its 4.375.

have all diesel's from that range 88'ish have ls in the rear? anyone..

Sorry mate but you are wrong. The only time petrol and diesel ran the same ratio in early lux's was around 85 when they both ran 4.5 ratios for a while.

The LN106 hilux had 4.375 ratio's thats the 3rd gen hilux's/4runners with the 2.8 (3L) engine.

did the diesel's with the 4.56 have limited slip in the rear diff???

no they didn't mate it is only later in the 80's like 88 or 89 it started to have the lsd's

guess what, i did read his post and where did i say that you were telling me to do a search. and i still dont agree, maybe on the mainland for some strange reason they ran the same ratio in 79 84 but all the ones i have worked on looked at,owned etc have seperate ratios, so i think we will agree to disagree, not really worth starting an argument over.
