Spring loaded tailshaft
just wondering if anyone has ever heard of putting a spring inside the slipjoint on the tailshaft, to keep a slight load on the slipjoint. was just reading about it on another forum and thinking outloud
inside or outside the shaft??

Don't really see the benefit cause it's hard mounted at the other end and if it's like my drive shafts on a patrol they are bolted at both ends with a slip yoke in the middle. Can't see what a spring would do to help.

its because my vitara has a slipyoke in the transfer, but no slipjoint in the shaft itself. so instead of doing a slipyoke eliminator, i'd run a normal hilux shaft, with the spring loaded slipjoint. that way it would keep a slight pressure on the slipyoke and keep it in the tcase, while the slipjoint in the tailshaft would extend and compress
