how to fit a lock right to front of vit

Post by SiKiD_01 »

does anyone know how to set up a lock right in a vitara front diff?

or does anyone know of anyone who has or knows how to do this?

i had a search, but it didnt turn out much, just a lot of topics on lock rights, and how i shouldn't put locker in the front of vehicles with IFS.

thanks for any help
Steve

vit and sierra carriers are different, but i remember somewhere saying that i needed a sierra centre fitted with a lock right, a sleeve made to hold pins, and something machined too. i think the sierra carrier needs some machining to clear the right hand side drive shaft.

they seem to be able to do it in the states pretty easily, but i want to know if anyone can do it here.

thanks
Steve

EDIT: i didnt see a wanted section up yet, so if anyone has a sierra lock right they dont need or want anymore, can you let me know please. and if its in a centre, all the better. thanks

If you're still running the alloy housing - good luck :D

Does a locker need any setting up before it goes into the carrier? Aside from any setting up of the pinion and side bearings.

cheers

if its a lock right, and its still good or new, then there are no adjustments needed. onlt make sure the shims are still with in the required limits.

same as a mini spool. no adjusting of locker. only the carrier needs to be set up again upon fitting. this is for pinion backlash.

thats all. (i think)
