agreed O.M.E can't be beaten by anything else at the moment.

Heavy Duty only if you carry a heap of weight, other wise standard/medium/light/whatever they call them now :)

Mine have been fitted for over 8 years, no probs.

no ARB sells OME

TJM sells other ones and i'm pretty sure that TJM does not sell ARB because they are rival companies

That seems like a reasonable price, not sure if you can get them in south oz though.
Are they a smoother ride than the originals?

I'm more than happy with my Dobinson springs, they're great on and off-road. Although the front springs have flatened a bit after the engine swap.. Bare that in mind if you have any plans to upgrade your motor/gearbox in the future.

Go for OME ! I got some convincing info from Joe at 4Play in Melbourne.. and the rest of the guys on here know what they're on about :)

The Dakars are cheap and this is what I'll be getting on mine when I take my car over to Vic soon for my mods. I considered Tough Dog etc but you can't beat the OME spring shape, nothing else is like it or built specifically for the zook :D ( i think)

Hey might catch up with you at the Naracoorte comp? - I'll send u a PM!

PS if you want a set of OME Dakars I can probably get them for the same price Im paying ($107 each for medium F+R)

These sound like the ones I have on my zook for last x amount of years - Carrolls (now EFS) same spring, same stiffness. When I used to carry heaps of gear for work on long trips with a full tank they rode ok... But now, eh! Too damn hard!

Just realised how old your original post was, LOL! guess you'd have new springs by now? If so what did u get?

Well you had to ask didnt you! Long story, but the moral is dont ever get anything from 4wd systems!!!! I bought a lift kit from there - 2" springs, shocks, bushes, u-bolts. When i picked them up i noticed the fronts were beltons and the rear ironman, i questioned them on this and he said yep thats fine we have used this combination for a while! I thought ok, next day i installed them, then i measered all four corners to see the difference from before.
The front was fine at 45mm higher, but the back was about 80mm higher  so i took it for a drive around the block and it was ridiculous, dangerously hard in the rear.
So i rang them and told them and he said that cant be right. It took about a week of constantly ringing up and trying to get some answers, and not getting any. Being fed bulldust, then them finally saying they would get some new rears. But i wanted to know, if they'ed expect me to drive all the way out there(to Gilles plains from Moana) and get them and then return the others, yep they did so i said no.
You can deliver them to my place and pick up the others, they finally agreed at there expense by courier. All up it took 3-4weeks with all the crap they fed me, oh and guess what the rears they sent out were beltons to match the fronts
After i had all the trouble with them i found out about all the other people who have had bad experiences with them! NEVER AGAIN :x

So to sum them up the fronts are great but the rear is a little to hard. Its good with a load in the back tho!

Oh and the shocks they supplied , threw them in the bin! Far too short for the lift, they limited down travel alot!

bloody hell, what a nightmare! There is so much crap out there that you really have to do your research... I'm glad I've spent the last 12 months listening to others' advice about suspension for zooks. I think I'm going to be happy with my decision once its all done! Can't wait :D

I could go for slander if I was to vent my splein on 4WD Systems. If only I could tell you some of the dodgy things that happen at that joint. I can only say steer clear of them, price isn't everything!!!

I know what your saying podge, i was holding back and keeping it short.
I could easily write 2 pages worth, as i said it took 3-4 weeks and there were alot of phone calls in that time that i could write about but i wont!
All i can say is stay away from them!

oscars, the ironman rears that come with mine were ridiculous. They surely couldnt have been made for a sierra. even though it was stamped on them, when i put them on my stepdad stood on the back of my car and bounced up and down and he is a big boy and the only flex was in my tyres the springs did not move! From memory i think there was 7 leafs!

true, mine were from a place in brissy, only 1 of them had a iron man label and it was the driver front. the others just had suz- etc. they only have 5 springs i think, i might cut the bottom ones on the back and the passanger front to alow more flex and to help the lean, but they ride alot better then the standard ones that were on it.
