Drop Shackles
alien how do i view the file i have downloaded 2 ?
OK, PM was sent and replied to, but i will also add it here in case someones future search poses the same question:
the file is a .DWG file, native to AutoCad... however the file was created with Adobe Illustrator and saved as a DWG because most places that do laser cutting wanted an AutoCad file.. No, i do not have the original Illustrator file as i lost it. The only copy of my shackle's laser cutting file is the one on Suzukiinfo.com.
Note that the file will produce 2 shackles. you will need to ask them to run it TWICE to get the whole zuk done. And if you are not sure on how to bild them i would suggest even running it 3 times so you have some spare parts in case you stuff up =)
Once built, they will need a TON of marine grease or similar to lubricate them and will need constant attention to maintain smooth operation. They also give 1/2" lift. You will also need new pins as the shackles are alot wider than standard. ONLY use high-ten steel for this, and nylock nuts are recommended - especially for the centre pin!!!
