FJ40 Rear Diff FFloat...size?????please help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Post by bumpy »

Need some help on working out the exact size of my rear diff as I'm getting a locker from the states.

fj40 full floating..has 10 bolts on the housing. 30 spline.

I can;t check the ID plate as its not the original diff...

Have been told its 8.8" but just want to verify...

websites I have seen say the 30 spline 8.875 has 12bolts on housing(US sites). and as mine has 10 bolts I'm confused :? and some say its an 8"...

I have searched the site but bring up everything but what I need...I have also searched google and this is where the confusion increases :?

So would love some help from a toyota diff guru.... :D so I don;t waste my money....

Thanks in advance....brendon

Cruiser's have 10 bolts that secure the diff centre assembly into the axle housing and i think they 12 bolts that secure the carrier to the crownwheel. If the locker is a 30 spline to suit a cruiser it will fit and cruiser diff front of rear from 1970 to 1990 and the rear of any cruiser fron 1990 to 1998. Thats FJ40-45-47-55-60-62-70-75, BJ42-43-73, HJ45-47-60-75 front and rear diffs. Also the rear of FJ75 (1989+)-80, HZJ75-80 and HDJ80.
