insurance?
I don't know if being in Qld will change anything but pretty much any of the big insurers will not like the bodylift or bigger rubber, even if engineered. I know NRMA and GIO refuse to insure a vehicle with a bodylift and will not insure if wheels are wider than 6" or larger diameter than +15 mm from standard (even muds on a standard wheel would beat this).
There are the insurers like Just Cars who will possibly insure it but charge you megabucks to insure. I looked at this some time back and had an horrendous quote, about a grand I think.
I just checked a policy I just renewed for a standard 1989 Sierra soft top with NRMA, $261.07 per year or $26.05 per month last renewed in Feb 05.
Good luck, post up your results as I am sure that there are many who would be interested if they can reduce insurance costs or obtain it with modifications.

Ok this is the go
606$ it cost me for full comp for a year but its $54 a month with racq
I have lost my licence once
and i have never had insurance before although i have never had an accident.
I told them about the 30' muddies
I told them about the lift'
I kept a serious face
seems like the chick put those things under "accesories" instead of "modifications"...
I was totally honest
So there you have it
A bit on the expensive side i guess but i can be fairly confident about it.

but if you ever have an accident they'll look at your policy.... look at 30" tyres... and worm their way out of payment by claiming you were driving an illegally modified therefore unroadworthy vehicle
seen it happen
