Does anyone know of any dramas running in a new motor on lpg?
i Know ford have lpg only as an option from new. Are there any special running in procedures? i can't run in on petrol as i will be running an aftermarket efi on the new donk. I don't want to tune and run in at same time.
thanks.

You wont have a problem just use a mineral based oil not synthetic , cause you should drain it after you run the cam in ,
and the way ive always ran engines in bikes and cars is to load them up and dont be to scared load them up which expands the rings and makes them seat better , if you dont load the motor up sometimes and rarely you can glaze the bores .
and make sure you drain your oil when hot to get all the loose bits of shit out , a.s.a.p.
Cheers.

make sure you use either a sae 30 oil or proper running in oil . change it with in the first 200/300k's.
depends on what piston rings you're using ,if using cast rings you can load the rings up 4 or 5 times by letting the engine lug back in a high gear to about 1500rpm then accel hard upto 2800/3000rpm .
The moly filled rings don't need any special bedding procedures if the bore has been honed to the correct finish.
