Mogs / volvo303 into rangie

Post by takearidewifme »

Hey guys...
Im looking at going down the portal conversion road and want some info from those who know...This is a reg vehicle although not everyday driver... only driven on road to and from bush...

Heres my delema...
Volvo 303's .....good size , weight, landie brakes, pinion offset is right..... seem tp be easy fit.... bloody expensive... $4200 - 5000 set..

Mogs... Cheaper@ under $3000 pinion offset wrong... 20inch rims needed to clear drums heavy, long pinion...

Which is best for what I wanna do????

I have a feeling that the mog is the more expensive and stonger option. In the landrover section there are a few topics discussing these options. If your soing real hardcore stuff the mog is the go otherwise the volvo. I imagine you'd have a fun time trying to get it registered for road use but keep us updated if you do.

Search the Rover section here and on Pirate. This has been discussed extensively before. Also a thread in "other makes" IIRC.
