Done a search and come up with some info about fitting an on-board air setup to a GQ TD42. But after more info if anyone can help.
What I found says that you can use a sanden 508 between the alternator and the original air con. Also requires a 50mm body lift. TB42 however seems to be possible if you lift up the powersteering pump a bit, but also a body lift required to clear.
Has anyone come up with another way to do an OBA in a GQ diesel?
I have a 210 york sitting around which I'd love to use, just can't see how its possible. Could get a Sanden 508 - but I dont have a body lift , and dont plan to. I also have an aftermarket turbo which has a larger air box, so that area is taken also where a 2nd battery would normally go.
Any suggestions on a way to do this?
I already have it all working off a 3.0hp motor with a tank, but not practical to throw a motor in the back of a wagon

GQ OBA
I've fitted a OBA to my TD42 by mounting a Sanden below the injector pump and extending the power steering belt to run it. The mounting bracket bolts on at the existing power steering bracket.
The hardest part was finding the right compressor at the wreckers that would fit. Most either had the pulley offset wrong so the compressor was to far back (hit engine mount) or the front fouled the PS hoses, or the inlet/outlet hoses were angled the wrong direction (at the engine block, or the injector pump).
I've used a Sanden off the first model Mitsubishi Magna. Can't remember if it's a 507 or 508. (not much difference in the output) I can still do all four tyres off the beach quicker than my mates can do one tyre with their ARB.
Just cut the old hose fittings off flush and then tap new threads to suit brass air-hose fittings. I then use a 240v pressure switch off an industrial compressor to trigger the clutch and everything's sweet.

I bought a system off a dude in the club, but he hacked his into the bottom of the airbox for air intake for the compressor.

That one option, other I have seen is an edger type foam filter (I think it was off a 4Hp Honda) up in one corner of the engine bay
