Solid axel for V6 vitara?

Post by fastvitara »

G'day, I've owned a '98 V6 estate wagon since new. I am now faced with the question to do a solid axel conversion. Does anyone know a place in Melbourne that might be able to help me out with it? Any hints/tips would be appreciated. :(

I heard from a fellow in the suzi club that he got a price to get his swb vitara changed over to solid axel hilux diffs front and rear recently... i'll follow up with him at the next meeting and find out where from and how much it was going to be...

FYI, there is a vitara estate wagon in the vic suzi club that you might want to have a look at - it's running 32" centipedes and a rear air locker with a 2" body lift and a small spring lift too... works pretty nicely. looks pretty good too.

see the attached photo

let me know if you want more info about it and i'll try to get hold of these people for you.

cheers,
Greg

Greg, thanx for your help. I'd love to find out a bit more about it too. That looks like it might work well. If its possible to get more info on who i might be able to contact, that would be sweet.
thanx,
Chris.

Chris

Come to our meeting next wednesday the 14th at the Model Railwat Association Hall, Wills Street Glen Iris 8pm start. You can then talk to and have a look at Paul's Vitara and also ask and hopefully get answers to all your questions

sounds like you'll need to find yourself a suzuki mechanic - i.e. someone that can finish off your car :D

don't worry about the dishes this time NAM... we got those under control last night...

however, if you own a vacum cleaner it will save you a lot of manual labour - those itty gritty bits of dust take a long time to pick up with tweezers
