Daihatsu SA Boys/Gals - Trip Ahoy!

Post by Dangerous Dave »

Well,

I am thinking about organising a day trip up to Ngarkat. Will probably be on a Sunday in the near future. Maybe as near as the 22/5/05. If your interested drop a line below.

Crowey's been there before an he recons that its about three hours drive from adelaide. Meeting point will be the Mobile Service Station at the beginning of Freeway. (A central point between North and South). We will be meeting there early, around 0630 - 0700 hours.

Murcod I might be able to get three 4B's plus me so It'd be good if you could rally your northern crew together. Anyone else feel free to come along.

This is of course subject to track conditions (open/closed) I'll give them a buzz and see what the deal is.

Until then...

That would be a good 3 hours drive I'd imagine?

Don't know if I'll be going as by the time you allow at least 6hrs to drive there and back a fair part of the day is gone! If something goes wrong and breaks it's a long way back to Adelaide.

From memory Steve and Sam go by SW1 and Sambo on here- try PMing them. ;) Could be worth posting a link in the Trips folder too.

What are the tracks like down there?

Don't know really. I may postpone it an make it an overnight camping trip or something. I haven't been there before so I don't know what the traks are like. Mike and I may be heading up on sunday to check it out if the tracks are open.

I tried ringing the Track info number today but the guy won't be there until arond 6 -7 tomorrow night.

It looks like the Border Track would go through there? Read somewhere that's been closed until conditions improve?

Border Tracks are closed until a good lot of rain has fallen. So until then...

Come to morgan instead

Post by Benszook »

Come and play in the quarry and tracks around morgan. It is about an hour and 45 mins from the servo at the base of the freeway that some one else was talking about. Its good fun and my Rocky is at my parents place about 25 mins from there and Im putting a new diff in the rear and then I can come down and play or if I dont finish it I will bring down my 80 series and show you around.

I've been up there before, its not bad. Heaps of area to explore, I would be a lot more fun when its wet. Plus its a little closer for all those northern boys that don't like travelling too far! (Joke Dave ) I'm pretty busy for the next few weekends but I'll see if I can't work something out. I'll keep ya posted via this thread.
