2.4diesel starting crap

Post by batcho101 »

Just recently my 2.4 diesel hilux has been starting really crap. As in it takes for ever to start and sometimes you have to use the glow plugs abotu 3 -4 times. I replaced the glow plugs 2 days ago and still no help the battery is only 3 months old and is a 13 plater high cranking one. However it still turns over slow.
Could it be
A: alternator isnt charging properly?
B: Glow plugs arent getting enough voltage?(currently only getting between 7-8)
I cant seem to think of why it would be doing this and even after leavign the battery on charge for 1 and 1/2 days it still didnt turn over any faster...
so any help is greatly appreciated because i thought i'd try hear before going to an auto electrician
