stock speaker sizes in 90 model hilux single cab ?
Hi,
I have recently purchased a ln106 single cab hilux.
Just wondering what the stock speaker sizes are ?
And any suggestions in upgrading the speakers ? Keep with the same size speakers as the stockers or cut up door trims and bolt on bigger speakers ?
Thanks,
Daniel.

Probably the easiest to do, which I did in my 4Runner. Is go to Autobarn and buy some ready made 6.5" split pods. They're moulded fiberglass in the style that points the driver and the tweeter up and inwards. Covered in grey vinyl very similar in colour to the Toyota colour, and they look bling!
All for about $120 a pair, you could hardly make some for that much, and unless you have the mould, it will never look as neat.

The other thing, if it's a standard lux it'll be easy to do but if you've got an sr5 then they had a full window and no quarter glass with the power windows. With the standard there is pretty much nothing under the quarter glass to interfere with fitting.

The pair I got from Northfield (pro car sound type shop) were only 25 for a pair to suit 6x9's, 18mm mdf with vinyl covering...
Yeah, but there's a big difference between the two door pods. Mine look very bling, all moulded and shaped. Plus they have to stick out further because the 4Runner has full windows. They're fully moulded fiberglass over MDF. As apposed to just MDF. Having said that, to fit big speakers in a Hilux yours looks much easier and cheaper.
